ACL Fest 2009: Rain Can’t Stop the Rock

It was my 7th consecutive year at ACL, so I had a pretty good idea of what to expect. The curve ball this year was the festival date change. Pushing ACL back from September to October took it from guaranteed sweltering summer heat to a potential grab bag of who-the-hell-knows what the weather will be. Us

Maybe it’s all the empowerment I feel today, but I can’t get the Regina Spektor song “Us” out of my head.

[youtube 9pKujuTgtL0]

They made a statue of us
And it put it on a mountain top
Now tourists come and stare at us
Blow bubbles with their gum
Take photographs
for fun, for fun

They’ll name a city after us
And later say it’s all our fault
Then they’ll give us a talking to
Then they’ll give us a talking to
Because they’ve got years Read More! […]

Day 3: Music

Music calms the troubled soul. Tonight I had the coincidental pleasure to enjoy two of my favorite musical obsessions – Jason Mraz at Nokie Live and High School Musical 3 premiere at midnight. Read More! […]
