That's a great way to put it, Jim!

And... I love the props to the "Social Media Space" !!

Another excellent post, Caitlyn! Great advice not just for job seekers, but for all embarking on a social media adventure. Never stop learning, and evolve with trends. The only rule in social media is to make it your own experience. Having a twitter account won't get you a job. But using it to add a dimension to your passions and skills can. Great post!

When I interview candidates, one of my favorite questions is "How do you stay relevant?" There's really no wrong answer to that (with the possible exception of "I don't.") but I'm interested when the answer includes - preferably without a friendly nudge - blogs, Twitter and RSS feeds the candidate follows. And that's not just because I work in the Social Media Space(TM); staying in step with new media is a show of relevance in and of itself.

So, job-seekers: if a hiring manager asks you how you stay relevant, keep this in mind. You might want to downplay the amount of time you spend on Facebook, though. :)

"Whatever your passion - love it, ask questions, and don’t assume you know everything."

LOVE IT!! So many people in this (drumroll please) "Social Media Space" assume they know everything rather than asking questions. Asking questions is important!! Especially if you really want to understand things. Great Post Q!
