Exploring Houston: Best Cheap Eats

Click2Houston recently released their 2009 list of Houston bests. This includes everything from “Best Waxing” to “Best Tea House.” (There is even a whole category of best wedding stuff).
In my efforts to branch out and enjoy Houston for all it has to offer (and upon @deneyterrio and @longstation‘s fervent suggestions to avoid all things chain restaurant in Houston), I am embarking on a quest – to experience the best food in Houston. We’ll begin with the “Cheap Eats” section of the list.
The seven items on the list of best cheap eats are:
- Best barbecue: Goode Company
- Best breakfast: The Breakfast Klub
- Best burger: Becks Prime
- Best burrito: Freebirds
- Best delicatessen: Kenny and Ziggy’s
- Best pizza: Star Pizza
- Best sandwich shop: Potbelly
Status: I am and have been a big fan of Potbelly and Freebirds (what kind of Aggie would I be if I wasn’t?) for a long time, so I’m crossing those off the list. The other 5 I am adding to my UrbanSpoon wishlist.
(Side note: Are you using the UrbanSpoon iPhone app? Sign up for an account and you can rate restaurants, create a wish list, and hook the app into your Twitter. Then add me as your friend!)
Over the next few weeks I will attempt to cross off all the items on my list. And as always, additional suggestions are COMPLETELY welcome! Happy eating!
