Finally starting the Harry Potter series!
I finally finished “I am America (and So Can You)” - and have moved on to the next book on my list: “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.”
Get excited, ye non believers who never thought I would get around to starting the series!

Wiki groaning - and you can too.
Wikiality really is an interesting cultural phenomena. Wiki Groaning is the game that lets us determine what modern day internet users find more fascinating. Put two topics up against each other - a “fight” if you will. Whichever page is longer is clearly more important to modern day society.
This all started on a Friday afternoon at the office in which I was attempting to find the most famous person whose wikipedia page is shorter than the page for Koolaid.
As quickly as it began, it got ridiculous. The best way to play is put the pages in different tabs, and flip between to see which scroll bar is shorter. That is the winner.
Most notable matches of the day:
- Eric is thrilled that Judaism wins against Christianity (but ties with the bible)
- Oscar Wilde beats both Oscar De La Hoya and Oscar the Grouch
- (side note - if you ever have a chance to go to Pere Lachaise Cemetery in Paris to see the graves of Oscar Wilde and Jim Morrison - go!)

My favorite loser to Koolaid: Coolio
Ohhhh yeah.
I AM PISSED. At you, Dreamhost!

Dreamhost charged me this morning for a year instead of a month. UGH. Please fix it soon, ass clowns.

You’ll notice that I failed miserably on last year’s New Year’s Resolutions. Let’s see how we do this time around.
I wasn’t planing to be so resolute this year, but came up with these for a post on RD2’s blog. Feel free to hold me accountable for any and all goals throughout the year. Use bribery if necessary:
Work
- Get better at my job
- Work smarter, not harder
- Learn more
- Get better in front of clients
- Do better work, faster
- Go to a major conference.
Personal
- Read more. Next up on the list:
- “I am America (and so can you)” - Stephen Colbert
- “Brainiac” - Ken Jennings
- “Tim Gunn: A Guide to Quality, Taste and Style” - Tim Gunn
- Harry Potter 1 - 7 (The goal is to have them completed by Summer 2009, when my sister graduates from high school and Harry Potter World opens)
- Be late less often
- Stop underestimating travel time, transition time, and traffic
- Concerts
- Music Festivals
- Road Trips
- Theme Parties
No Doubling Back Now
It looks like Jason Mraz is touring again.
It’s been over a year since he’s had a major tour, and I couldn’t be more excited.
Word on the street is that his latest album (due out in Spring of this year) will be called We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things. I’ve always thought the older acoustic stuff is better than the albums, and I’m hopeful that he’s been able to keep that vibe and “start all over again.”
Another promising note: the new single is one of my personal favorites of his: I’m Yours
If it were up to me, my ideal song list would include:
- No Doubling Back
- Burning Bridges
- Bright Eyes
- 10,000 Motherfuckers
- Older Lover, Undercover
See you on the road, Jason.
